Lexicon Strike was created by Shakthi Lakmal to help GRE test-takers learn high-frequency vocabulary quickly, and to show those words living in real news.
Retrieval practice
You recall the meaning instead of rereading it — the strongest single way to build long-term memory (Roediger & Karpicke, 2006).
Dual coding
Every word is paired with an image and spoken audio, giving your brain two routes back to the meaning (Paivio).
Spaced repetition
Missed words move to Extra Practice and graduate only after two correct answers in a row.
Interleaving
Mixed mode blends groups so you learn to tell similar words apart (Rohrer & Taylor, 2007).
